What would YOU do???

So... now i smell like vinegar. My oldest is daring me to put him up for apdotion today.
Here's what happened....

G's good friend Mr. M comes over to play.

G insists on me giving him some pop.

I say no, G throws major fit.

G gets told to go to time out

G refuses and starts screaming and yelling and grabs banister as mom drags him to time out.

G screams and yells till mom threatens nap and/or vinegar

G takes time out.

G comes out and plays well for about 20 minutes.

After a bit G decides to try to force me to give him his camera (which he lost for the day due to throwing in last night) and starts baggering me.

I count, he starts talking back and screaming

He gets told to go to time out

He throws another major fit

I tell him he is getting vinegar for talking back and screaming

He runs to his room and slams door locking it behind him.

I unlock said door with handy little unlocker thing

I give him vinegar.

He SPITS IT IN MY FACE.

!!!!!! @#$& (Don't worry it was just in my head.)

I give him three spankings and tell him that it's time for him to take a nap.

Down he goes for nap, screaming and yelling (he's not used to taking a nap).

By the way, he's loosing all of his toys for the rest of the day as well... plus because his friend is still here he doesnt get the opportunity to finish playing with him either.

Grrr... at least Missy My and Mr M seam to play well together!

What would you have done???

Well, the rest of the day was better at least. All of my kids were down for a nap at the same time... so I caught a quick nap as well... and when G got back up he was MUCH more agreeable.

Dude, I would have seriously punched him in the face when he spit on me! Good job being a good mom!

Wow! I had no IDEA your day was so bad! You kept your cool really well. Can we call you "Sourpuss", now? LOL. Seriously, after the first indication he was tired (the second outburst shortly after the first confirmed it for me) he should've gone down for a nap - hopefully on a more positive note. It would've saved him (& YOU) from more grief and trauma. As his mom, you know him MUCH better than anyone, though. Glad you eventually got a break.

After G is told to go to time out and starts screaming and yelling (an indication of exhaustion) is when I would've acted.

If he's going up for adoption, can I have him? No use throwing away a perfectly good boy.

LOL yeah, I just hate to put him down for a nap when he had a friend over... I wanted to try to avoid it. Now EVERY time he throws a fit like that he goes down... even at 6 pm (as long as he has had something to eat recently :) I have a hard time putting him to bed with nothing to eat, though I have done it before.
