May the Force be With Him

So Goober has turned into a super Star Wars geek. Which isn't such a bad thing. I like that he has something that he enjoys, not because all the other kids do, but because he himself likes it.

For Halloween I have to figure out how to make him Darth Vader and have it be school friendly (aka no mask and minimal makeup). So that should be a challenge.

Here is a snippet of our dinner conversation this evening:

Me (talking to Jer): Yeah, the kids watched Star Wars today, you know, the one with all the snow.

Jer: ahhh you mean Hoth.

Um, yeah, like I would keep track of the names of the planets! :P the one were Luke is WAY whiny... oh wait. That would be all of the older ones...

At this point Goober pipes up....

Goober: Yeah, Degobah.

HOLY CRAP! My FIVE year old knew the STAR SYSTEM.... should I be worried? I dunno of I should be impressed or worried... awwww crap! I think I should be impressed... how many kids would pick THAT up... he hasn't even watched it a kigillion times.

Hi, I saw your blog on Mormon Mommy blogs. I hope it's ok to post. Your son sounds just like mine! lol! He is 10 but has loved Star Wars since he was 5! And my 16 year old has loved it even longer!

LOL no not bashing Star Wars, but I have to admit Luke is very whiny... probably gets it from the brooding emotional father :) Personally I like the girls the best... Han Solo was pretty good too :)

Jake just likes the action sequences of Star Wars. There could be worse things. Like if he wanted to be Ariel or something (I like Ariel, but I mean for something a little boy should be obsessed about).

Yeah, Carsen plays Star Wars with his friends at school, and has even taught Raegan to play imaginary "light savers" they make swooshing and crashing noises and swing their arms like they are using a light saber. Carsen is going to be Luke Skywalker and Raegan is going to be Princess Leia and Steve has an authentic Darth Vader costume...it is nuts!

Also, I agree Luke is quite whiny...especially in the first one...

Oh yes, Luke is SO ANNOYING. I was Princess Lea when I was seven - sooo cute. I should post it on my blog soon, in honor of Halloween and all that...
