This year was .... um, a year. LOL
We moved into our new house in January of last year and have ever since missed our old one! But it IS starting to grow on us a little. Paint, I need to paint... that will make it aaaaaaaall better. Ok, maybe not, but it WILL make it more "Mine".
We went to the new ward a few times.
My New Years Resolution last year was to loose some "poundage" which I did a little. 15 lbs... though with the way I've been eating lately I may have gained back... dunno, avoiding the scale thankyouverymuch.
On a more positive note in February I got all of the photos of my entire pre-digital camera life scanned into the computer and put onto discs. YAY, what a feat! Had no clue I had so many duplicate pictures.
I also bought the kids new church clothes to wear to church. Then we got "The Crud" and missed some church for a while. It's easy to do when you don't know very many people, the kids don't want to go, and it interrupts the toddlers nap time.
Not much happened in March besides crappy weather.
In April we put in a much needed fence in the backyard. BEST. INVESTMENT. EVER. We went to the zoo some, got sunburned, and Liam learned how to open the sliding glass door, so we promptly put a UBER-LOCK at the top of it.
My Birthday happened, the last one that I will be in my twenties for.
My parents gave the kids a massive backyard toy as an early birthday present, which they adore, and which we got all put together before April ended :)
May brought Missy's 4th birthday and Kindergarten Graduation for Goober.
My motherboard on my computer died and I got separation anxiety while it was gone being "fixed".
We got our Garage cleaned out so we could actually park cars in it! Crazy I KNOW! imagine people actually using their garage for CARS!
And the Summer commenced!
June brought Goober 6th Birthday and swimming lessons for both Goober and Missy, which they adored and did very well at! EB wanted to join in, but I decided that would wait one more year. Thank goodness the swim pool has a playground near it!
I found out that my "fixed" computer can no longer handle uploading music from CD's or the internet... therefor my Ipod (which I got for my Birthday) is now mainly used for planning and notes to myself. Oh. and Pandora.
We took a trip to Washington for my sisters graduation from college. A rare trip out of town for us, but totally enjoyable!!! I'm still proud of her for that.
In July we celebrated the 4th with my parents at their house :) We took the kids to Riot Zone (which they adored, and which doesn't happen very often due to funds). My eldest sister came to visit with her family. My kids followed them around like puppy dogs. Cousins are always a VERY exciting thing around here.
August brought EB's 2nd Birthday, we went to a baseball game with Grandma and Grandpa S. SO. MUCH. FUN. even if we couldn't stay the whole game! aka late night and grumpy kids.
School started again. This time with Goober in 1st grade and Missy in Preschool. I started looking for someone to carpool Missy home from Preschool.
I also found out that I am insulin resistant.... and started looking into the specifics of that.
The Fair happened in September. Always an enjoyable moment!
No carpool for Missy still but making an effort to find one.
Realized we have been AWOL from church.
Jer and I's 8th anniversary was late in the month, making me worry that maybe the long planned trip for our 10th anniversary might need to see some fundage starting.
October brought the realization that I'm actually more of a feminist than I previously thought. I also totally gave up on the carpool thing.
Goober had his first ever sleep over, having his friend Mr M stay the night. He had an absolute blast! He also lost another tooth. He has now lost 5 total. He was stoked.
Bullies at the bus stop start to tease Gavin. Jer warns them.
We find out Jer is also insulin resistant.
Halloween happens! Iron man, Fairy, and the Puppy dog have a blast trick or treating.
In November I talk to "bus stop bullies" parents and put the kibosh on that nonsense.
I made pumpkin pies for Thanksgiving which turn out great, and get to enjoy my sister Jo and her whole family for the holiday! SO MUCH FUN! :) Great to see them!
And that brings us to December! Jers 30th birthday is later this month *gasp* and the Christmas shopping isn't done yet. One of the kids found their "main" present, and I fear my fingers are going to freeze off. Ya, that's about it!
Hope everyone has a sanity filled Christmas and a non-stressful New Year!!!! :)
April (me), Jer, Goober, Missy, and EB

I'm sure there were many special and priceless moments that you have kept for you and your family only over the year.
Say listen sister, if you can tell me the secret to being "non-stressed" during the holidays, please share! When your stress level has gone way high, it's the holiday season = )
May
It was fun to review your year. And I even learned some new things, like that Jer is also insulin-resistant. I met a gal tonight who is insulin-resistant. And I'm glad the bullying has stopped at the bus stop.
Great recap!
Note re. how to stop stressing during Christmas prep: become a member of a non-Christian religion! LOL. Simplify, simplify, simplify . . .
