I will be healthy... I WILL... ummm hopefully

Ok, so over the weekend I got myself a gym membership. Mostly because I have no room in our abode to put a treadmill. But I figured if I was getting a gym membership I might as well make SURE this works. Soooooo I got myself some training sessions too.

Ok, the things about this is... what time during the day works best? I mean, really? If I didn't have the kids to worry about I would do it in the morning about mmmm nine-ish. But that doesn't work cause Jer isn't home and Missy is quite often still in bed. So... that makes me have to choose morning or evening. Cause lets face it, I'm not a huge fan of dishing out money so someone can watch my kids while I exercise.

So, I thought... evening!  That will work! Then I remembered last time....

I kept exercising nightly for .... ummm.... all of about a day. Ya. Sad.

Sooooo that leaves morning. I was already getting up at 6:45 to get a shower and Goober up and off for school... so that means I'll have to get up EARLIER. Training sessions take about an hour, I can have Jer get Goober up, but Jer also needs to get ready for the day.... So that means I have to be AT the gym at 6am. SIX. Which means actually getting up at about 5:45. Which in turn means I have to go to bed earlier.

I aimed for 9pm bedtime last night. Aimed being a good word because I actually GOT to bed at about 10 - 10:30 cause Jer and I started talking religion at about 9ish. lol. Well.... 10 is better than 11 or 12... right?

My alarm went off this morning and I very nearly turned it off. Then I thought... "Pay for a sitter or get up now?" Ya... get up now won. Don't ask me how. lol.

So this morning I exercised for an hour, came home got a shower, got Goobers lunch made and him sent out the door, all while talking "Feminism" with Jer before tell him he was going to be late for work and shoving him towards his car.

Not a bad start for the day. :) I actually already feel the difference.... isn't that odd? I don't know why I make exercising out to be such a beast... it's not so bad. Weeeeeeeeeellll... I guess I will REALLY know if it's bad or not come Friday and my first training session. But until then, high hopes! :)

Way to go, lady!

I'm in the same boat - I'm getting up at 6 to exercise so the kiddos are still sleeping. It's not even 8am and I'm tired... :)

It gets better, right?

Good for you! YAY! I have the same dilemma-I would love to get a membership somewhere (well, somewhere fairly cheap), but if I wanted to go in the morning before Pete heads out I'd have to go at 4 a.m., and that is SOOOO not happening! And the evening? Yeah, same thing-I'm too tired or have too much to do. *sigh* So I hope that I don't get too fat in the next, um, 4 years, and then I'll start exercising when my kids are at school. YAY! (Such a lame plan, I know.)

Good luck on continuing to get up early! I know you'll do great!

P.S.-besides eggs, do you have any other good breakfast suggestions for insulin resistance? Pete's wanting to go back on a diet but doesn't know what to do for breakfast.

Yay April! Congrats on getting up and getting your exercise early. That is tough. It motivates me to want to jump back on my treadmill. I hope your workout went well. Are you doing only cardio, or are you learning strength training too? Good luck with your routine, it sounds like you're getting off to a great start!

WAHOOOOoooo!!! You GO, Girl!!! I'm getting ready to start "The Metabolism Miracle" lifestyle change (diet with recipes and exdercise) that's worked so well for you. I must say I'm envious of your newly emerging healthy figure.

Loni- I'm doing both... but until the trainer lets me know what works best I'm just doing the treadmill to try and get my body back into the swing of things if you know what I mean.

Mom- your cute, I haven't even been doing that well with it all. in the next couple of days I'll be putting my self back on a better diet that I have been doing lately... ahhh the joys of telling your body "No! Be healthy dangit!"

I don't know what your YMCA's are like in ID but a lot of my friends love our YMCA's here in WA. They really like that the Y provides free babysitting while you workout if you have a membership. They do a lot of fun preschool type activities with the kids too. Something to consider.

The Y provides free baby-sitting??? That is a draw, for reals. Plus I heard that they give you cheaper monthly dues depending on your income. My friend only pays $10 a month for hers. Interesting.

But on to you. I cannot believe you are getting up at 5:45!! I am so impressed!! I tried working out at night, and it totally didn't work for me, either. I want to spend that time with Ben, not go away from him and not see him after not seeing him all day. So early mornings really are the best, but I have soooo struggled getting up. So I'm amazed with you. It really is awesome to get it out of the way, though. And then you can shower and look put-together for the rest of the day.
