Cute Hair

So I actually took the time this morning to do Missy My's hair cute. She stayed still for it too! Horay! I love it when she looks like someone loves her! LOL ... Needless to say I'm proud of myself... and think my kids are way cute... so here are some pictures!

I really did tell Missy to smile.... instead she gave me a stern look. LOL

G wanted his picture taken too!

A Little Spooked

So, this morning at about 3 am I woke up with a killer pain my my side. For those of you that know me well, you know my pain tolerancy is high... well about the time I decided to take 800 mg of Ibuprofen (about 5am), Jeremy got a little spooked decided to take me to the ER. I was worried I was being a major wuss and that it would be gas or something. Before I went my In-Laws came over to be with the kids and Jer and Gpa S gave me a blessing... it was really nice. Told me the pain would go away, but just in case I needed to go to the ER to get it to go away we still went. Well, by the time the bloodwork and that was done the pain had pretty much gone away on it's own. Yay... no appendicitis for me!

Turns out they think it was a kidney stone... OUCH. Never had that before. Hurt like a booger, but I was greatful to get home in time to get to church because G had his first primary program today. I was really glad I didn't miss it.

On the way up to the front of the church with the rest of the kids he decided he needed help... so what did he do you ask? He said "I need help" ... reasonable right? well, he said it right into the microphone. LOL At least the kid isn't afraid to be up there or to ask for help!

Eww

Ok. So the pumpkins got moldy! EWWW. They grew long stringy black hair on the inside... NO WAY am I going to try to light them! ... I may have to take a trip to get new ones :P Yuck.

Something for mom too :)

Today I went shopping. Not grocery shopping (that was last night), not miscellanious crap for the house shopping, but CLOTHES shopping. Granded I only had enough extra moola to buy one outfit and some new jeans... and some new snow boots... but it was something for ME for a change! And I didn't even have to take the kids along. Halleluja!

Jeremy cleaned up the garage this morning and G went to Gma S's house to help her make cookies. We ran a few errands then Lissa called an asked if I wanted to check out the new Lane Bryant store.... Um, YES. So off I went leaving the sleeping younger kidlets with Jer while I got to giggle and laugh with a friend who doesn't make me feel like a sumo wrestler while we try on clothing :) There is no better way to spend some girl time than to wander around doing only what I want to do, not nessassarily only what I need to do.

When I came home and tried on my new shirt for Jer, G walked in and asked what I was wearing. LOL. umm.. new clothes. You would think the kid had never seen mom by new stuff for herself! So I told him that sometimes mom and dad need new stuff too. Granted I did pick up some long sleeves shirts for missy while I was out... but that doesn't count does it? :D

We all need a break sometimes.

So Wednesday was a nightmare... No kidding Big G and Missy My were fighting NONSTOP all freakin day! I would attempt to get something done and no kidding 5 seconds after I got to the top of the stairs Missy would start screaming bloody murder and G would start yelling at her to stop.... which only proved to make the issue worse. On top of this Li wouldn't let me put him down for more than 2 min without squaking about it. SIGH.

Yesterday was MUCH better. I think the fact that I had to go visiting teaching and left them with Gma S then after that had to go do Activity Days and arranged for them to go next door for a little while (many thanks Tandee!!) really helped. They seamed like different children last night... they played so well together and gave mom a few minutes to read a book in peace! Amazing! I usually have to wait till after they go to bed to really read and get anything out of it. I need to remember on those days when they are being demons that sometimes it's not just ME that needs a break!

I just have to remind myself on those hard days that even though I may not like my children at times... or some days even. I really do love them and enjoy them more often than not. Things like this make it all worth it!

G dressing up Missy and her letting him. WITHOUT fighting about it! And of course Li smiling...makes the frazzled nerves and diaper changing worth it when they get along and are happy!

Jack-O-Lanterns

So these are the kids pumpkins that we carved last night. Big G's is the big one and Missy My's is the little one. To make the pumkins truely be theirs I drew a bunch of different eyes, noses, and mouths and had them each pick the ones they wanted.

Manic Monday!

Yesterday I promised Gavin that if he kept his undies dry I would make sure he got a chance to ride his bike today... thank goodness the weather was alright!

Check out the snow on the mountains! It won't be long till we have it down here too, I'm sure. Hopefully halloweeen won't be too cold (I'm totally crossing my fingers on this since most years it snows on halloween or at least we have some snow already on the ground by the time the little ones brave the weather in their quests for sugar highs).

After spending some time making their noses runny (It was a little chilly) I decided it was time to go visit Gma J... so off we went to Grandma's house. She is so good with them! For some odd reason the kids wanted her to read them a book under a blanket, it must have had something to do with the glow sticks that she gave them in a bag for halloween. Both Big G and Missy My had a glow stick glowing by the time we left for home :)

On the way home Missy My fell asleep in the car so into bed she went for a nap while Big G and I prepared the pumpkins for demolition during Family Home Evening tonight. Jer hates the slimy stuff so I'm sure he will be glad he missed it!

Needless to say... today has been a bit of a crazy day. If nothing else was accomplished today at least the kids had fun!

Dinner at Grandma's House

Every other Sunday night our family eats dinner at Gma and Gpa S's house. Aunt Azlee and Uncle Chris do this as well, so we end up with 10 people (counting the two 2mth olds).

This time it was our turn to cook... as it is every third Sunday we eat there. So Jer made stroganoff while I chased the kids around trying to keep them away from the hot surfaces in the kitchen :) After dinner we sat around and talked for a while and Gma S read to the family a little till it was time for the kids to go to bed.

Some Sunday nights we stay to talk or play board games while the kids either play with the oodles of toys that Gma and Gpa keep stashed away or while they play on the playhouse in the backyard. Either way it's a good time for the kids to be able to get to know family that they don't see throughout the week. Hopefully as they get old they will be able to become close friends with their cousin (s) and hopefully understand that their extended family loves them too.

As a child I didn't live near any of my grandparents and was always a little jealous of the kids I knew that could go to their grandparents houses often and were best buds with their cousins. I hope that my kids will be able to understand what a blessing having grandparents live near by is as they get older and hopefully take advantage of it often.

Hangin Out

TRANFORMERS is AWESOME! lol

Really cool special effects!!

We invited friends over to play games and ended up ordering pizza and watching transformers in teh process. The kids seamed to really enjoy it too :) It was nice to see and hang out with the Bush's ... we hadn't seen them in a while so it was really nice to have a chance to catch up!

Flu Shots

Well, apparently the hospital here has already had the first cerified case of the Flu this year. Fun, Fun.

Little Li is considered high risk because he is only 10 weeks old... that means the rest of us get to get Flu shots today. So while Big G was at preschool this morning I took Missy My to get her shot, then after I picked him up from preschool I took him to get his. I figured that I might as well get his Kindergarten shots while I was at it... Goodness that was a lot of shots at once. Poor kid! I think they ended up giving him 5 shots in a row (Including the flu shot). He was really brave and stopped crying as soon as he realized they were done. They gave him a book as a reward for going through that and told him that he didn't need to have any more immunization shots till he was 11yrs old. YEAH FOR ME!!! I asked if he wanted to watch mom get a shot and he said "Yeah!" I don't think he realized that sometimes adults need to have shots too! So this evening after Jer gets home I think I will run over to the urgent care and get one. I haven't had one in years, but hey if it helps G feel less picked on that's great!

Here are the battle wounds

Sleeping in... kinda :)

This morning I got a lovely treat. I got to sleep in till 8:30. As A teenager I would have thought that 8:30 was NOT sleeping in... but my kidlets have convinced me otherwise! I count every minute past 7am a blessing in discuise... If I wake up and they are still not up screaming and jumping off of their beds I lay in bed thankful for a moment of peace. Oh the things you learn not to take for granted once you have kids :)

Like a quiet and mess free breakfast!

Little Li's Doctors Appointment

So, Little Li had his 2 month well check today...

He is now 23 1/4 in long, 11lbs 11 oz, and his head circumfrence is 15 1/4

He's at about the 50% on height and the 20% on weight.... and man was he mad when they gave him his shots! OUCH! He got three today... besides that there were only a couple of things to keep an eye on. One being that he seams to have mild torticollus. This is when the neck muscles are short on one side and make the baby's head tilt to one side. The pediatricain said not to be overly concerned till he can't turn his head the opposite way on his own... needless to say I will be keeping an eye on this.

Oh, and I get the joyfully fun obligation of having everyone in the family get flu shots so that Li isn't put in danger of getting the flu. :P fun fun... can't WAIT till I get to take Gavin.... ugh! Wish me luck!

Dancing

Big G and Missy My dancing this morning before church. They started dancing spontaniously in our room a few minutes earlier and I told Jer to grab the camera while I quickly moved them to a room outside of the chaos called our master bedroom. :o)

WHAT UP???

LOL I have to laugh. My dear hubby just refuses to take a good picture. He is always having some kind of funky expression on his noggin!
Does he NOT look like a crazy mountian man here or what?
BTW this was right before he shaved that Grizzly Adams beard off. :o)

TGIF

Maybe it's because it's Friday but I have to say I've made up my mind... I've given up being irritated with Big G on the potty training thing... I think I'm too neurotic about getting things my way as a mother. I'm going to try extra hard not to scar my children for life or give them OCD, this week.

Wish me luck!

Woops

So, today Little Li was supposed to have his 2 month old doctors appointment....or so I thought. So I get everyone up early so I could take the older kids to Grandma S's house so she could take Big G to preschool on time while I was gone.

Well, I forgot that they rescheduled on me... grrr

And Missy My is NOT a morning person.

What's for lunch?

Today one of my friends called and invited me to go out to lunch with her and her son. I couldn't resist and said "Sure" even though I shouldn't have.

So we get there and I ask Missy My what she wants for lunch....

"Bark-a-bur" She replys

Only a parent could possibly understand how I got hamburger out of that!!! So apparently at our house hamburgers are now "bark-a-bur"s.

Here we go!

So I guess I'm a lemming! Apparently everyone on earth has a blog except me!

Ok....

So maybe that IS a BIT of an overstatement. :)

Anyways, I've decided to start one to help keep friends and family that live far way in the loop as to what is going on with our family! I hope it also helps to remind me to look for the best in my day to day life and also to remember to keep life interesting enough to blog about! YIKES! That should be a trip, but hopefully a fun one.
