Ok, so after I went to my high school reunion I got the thinking.
First off, if you don't already know, Jer is a HUGE W.O.W. Geek! No, not "Oh WOW!", but World of Warcraft "WOW". he has always loved games, whether it was board games or video or computer. Games are for Jer. or Jer is for games... I'm not sure which.
Anywho....
So oftentimes when we go places Jer can't help but to make some random comment or joke that pertains to WOW. And quite often he gets odd looks for it. Then he mentions that I play WOW and I most definitely get odd looks for it. Cause, you know, GIRLS aren't into that stuff!!! :D What I find amusing about this is the fact that this game is wildly popular. I promise that I have met more people that play WOW than any other hobby I've ever had... and I'm not talking about meeting them "in-game" either.
You know when you are on a date and happen to be talking "WOW lingo" and your waitress gets all chummy and excited about it with you... that you can't be THAT weird.
So, I've come to believe that everyone is a nerd in some way. Not necessarily with World of Warcraft, maybe Star Wars, board games, collecting random figurines, or maybe some other "nerdy" vice. I tend to find people that admit they are nerds in some fashion really fun to be around, cause lets face it... to some extent they really don't care that people think they are nerds!!! yay empowerment! :D
NERDS UNITE!!!
PS I found this article to be HIGHLY amusing.

FYI I am exquisitely proud of my geekiness! I brag about it from time to time. My friends all call me a geek - to my pleasure!
Yesterday we went to Jake's school's open house, and the Kindergarten teachers were doing a presentation in the library. We walked by some books, and Jakob was like, "Oooh, cool!" They were the science books. We have some science books here at home-spiders, volcanoes, sharks-that are for 5 year olds, and my kids love them. I turned to Pete and said, "Look at our little nerds." But Pete and I are both nerds in our own ways, so what can you expect?
That article is funny, because at the very end it was like, "Uh, video games can also cause violence and obesity" in one little paragraph.
Although I HATE WOW with my whole being, 13 million people play it. And as much as I've watched some of the things that Blizzard has done I think are ingenious. And the graphics are pretty.
Blogging is about as nerdy as I get, sadly.
I'm nerd-a-licious, baby. I'm always making stupid grammar jokes. I am my own best audience.
Once the husband and I went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner and he was wearing his Weird Al concert T-shirt and our waitress got all excited when she saw it and we talked with her for almost 45 minutes about how awesome the concert had been.
My husband also sends me comics that are based on the Lord of the Rings series, which I find hilarious.
I also stood outside a theater for 12 hours so I could get in for the midnight release of Star Wars the Phantom Menace.
I also played a Princess Leia-type character in a friend's home-made movie that got shown at a Star Wars convention thingy.
I am the nerd queen! :)
I've never heard of W.O.W. - that puts me in an entirely separate class of nerds, yeah? But, like Chicky, I'm a huge Star Wars fan. And a Trekkie. Yep, I've totally embraced my nerdiness!
