Yesterday I woke up grumpy... well, not really... but things had a rough start.
We have a Barnes and Noble Book fair for the kids school today, and there were a few miscommunications and things that made it not turn out quite how it was supposed to. So I was over at the school before I'd even had a chance to get a shower making copies and putting signs up on the doors and waiting for the principal to get there so I could get an okay for using the schools letterhead. Well, turns out he wasn't there... and hadn't let the secretary know he wouldn't be there either. And as I said, I was already grumpy because of other issues.
Well, after resigning myself to using the letter without the letterhead and going home because I felt icky (Hello! No shower!) I proceeded to go about my day, including applying for a few jobs while I was at it.
Part of that was to call into a corporate office and go through a screening process, which I passed, now I'm just waiting for a phone interview. Then we got a call for Jer...
It was someone from a company he had applied to work due to a tip from someone I'd met through the PFA.
He had an interview at 3. :) So off he went at while I went and picked up Goober from school. Shortly after I got back I received a call from the guy who is managing renting our house. WE GOT RENTERS! Yay!
Can I tell you what a stress that takes off? Now I won't need to worry about finding the funds to pay the mortgage anymore, the rent will do that :) And while that means that we also can't move back into our house soon, it makes further problems less likely.
Jer took a long time at his interview. Turns out the guy interviewing him had to put out a fire. No, really... some of the guys had lit a door on fire and he had to help put it out! LOL and you thought I was just talking about management type "Fires" :D Anyhow, Jer got a temporary position at a construction company that works all around the world. The job will last a couple of months and potentially turn into something more!!! While it isn't permanent, I'm just happy that we will be able to pay some bills without having our credit go down the tubes for a couple of months.
I'm NOT complaining!!!

If you would like to link to us go right ahead, I do ask though that if you know us in real life that you use my kids blog names if you refer to them. I don't use them in my blog or the title for safety purposes. Thanks so much!

Ummm, Where the H*ll do I put my Coat?!
Okay, so I have to admit, that when we bought our house we failed to notice the lack of a coat closet (among other things). The house is a split level so the entry isn't very large either... so no building one in, and the layout of the house doesn't provide any room to bust a wall out and install one.
So once we noticed there wasn't a place to put our coats (pretty quickly I might add) I started to try to think up solutions. At one point we hung up a set of hooks so that we could hang our coats on the wall in the entry... Goober eventually pulled it down over the course of many days of tugging on his coat to get it down, which of course I nagged him not to do. The solution I have finally set upon is to put a bench in the entry and then a coat tree in the opposite corner.
After setting on this solution I promptly procrastinated it. We put a set of hooks over the laundry room door (downstairs) and made due until I could find stuff I liked.
Then I got caught up with life and didn't even look for stuff I liked. Any other mom's do this? I'd imagine so.
Anyhow, recently my mom showed me a bench in one of the many magazines she receives in the mail. It was much like my bar stools in my kitchen and looked like it would fit well with my taste and fit in the designated area. I thought it was cute and said as much. Mom asked if it might work if she ordered it (she had a discount or gift certificate of some sort for this particular magazine) and had it sent to my house and then I would pay her the difference. This was fine with me, since--of course-- it encouraged me to get off mylazy arse bum and do something about the issue... well, technically I wasn't really required to get off my bum at all... just write a check lol.
So alas the bench came via UPS today and I quickly put it together.
Fits pretty well, and Turbo definitely likes it... guess this means I should probably start looking for a coat tree, eh? :)

The Story of the Little House and the Cruddy Stove....
Ok, let me tell you a little story....
ONCE UPON a time there was a little house. This house was a happy little house. It stood up tall, and only wanted for it's owners to take good loving care of it.
One day soon after this house had come into being it got it's first owners.... Oh what high ambitions it had! It was so hopeful that it's owners would love it and treat it well. And for the most part they did.
Except for the fact that apparently they couldn't cook very well, because often the little house would fill with smoke and it's fire alarms would scream and annoy the WHOLE neighborhood. While the smoke would clear out pretty quickly with the easy opening of a few windows and doors the CRAP on the stove remained. And gathered. And seeped into new unknown places. And the next time the owners would cook there was a nasty smell that would commence due to burnt crud under the burners.
They only did things for the little house with half of their hearts. And the little house wasn't very happy.
One summer the owners got a new job and had to move away, leaving the little house empty and waiting for new owners to come along. Summer went and fall came. Then fall went and winter came. And the snow piled up and was never shoveled. And the little house was sad and felt unwanted and was having a hard time wanting to stand tall.
Then one day new people came along and saw some real potential for the little house that was still managing to stand tall after so many months of being alone.
They bought the house, and they cleaned the house, and they put pictures on the walls and made it feel like a home. Their children were crazy, but full of laughter, and the little house had hope once again....
The only thing the little house was still waiting for was something to be done about all that crud in the stove...
One night as New Mr. Owner was cooking dinner for the little kidlets he discovered that not only was the stove dirty, it was FILTHY. It even lit a small fire under the burner because of all the crud there. He then proceeded to avoid that burner while cooking...
And the new little house still had hope that someone might take pity on it's little stove....
Then one day Mrs New Owner DID! She looked at the stove and said "Ick!!! That's disgusting!!! Something MUST BE DONE!!!" and she proceeded to take the little stove apart and start scrubbing it with a sponge, but this was not enough.... Then she pulled out the Magic Eraser and scrubbed very hard. Even so much that she used up a WHOLE Magic Eraser in ONE go....but alas, it was NOT enough. So then she started to get pissed and a little miffed that OBVIOUSLY someone had never taught the old owners how to clean up after themselves in the kitchen!!! So she resorted to drastic measures and pulled out the SOS pads full of all that harsh steel wool stuff and proceed to scrub, scrub, and scrub some more. And alas the CRUSTINESS started to abate. After two full hours of soaking and scrubbing, scrubbing and soaking.... she could start to see the actual color of the trays underneath the burners! And she was happy because there was hope! And after more cleaning the little stove was SPOTLESS!!! And she was very please with herself for doing so much work cleaning up other peoples messes. In fact she even bragged to her mother about what a good job she did! Then she decided she would even blog about it. mememememe! Look what I can do!!!
And the little house was VERY HAPPY!!!

Ok, ok.... I give.... kinda
Ok, so many of you have been asking to see pictures of "the house".... so this morning when i was there I took I total of three pictures... yeah, I'm lazy like that! :) I put two on here... but the picture of the outside is going to have to wait due to the house number being on it (yes, I'm COMPLETELY paranoid! If you don't know that then I have to wonder about you and your observational skills.) I need to edit those off... THEN I will put that picture up... M'kay?
Picture of the kitchen (I know, you couldn't figure that out, so I had to help you a insy bit....)
And a picture from the front room. Missy is on the stairs that go up the bedrooms and the entry is under the light you see hanging from the ceiling there.....
I will take more pictures once we are moved in and settled a little bit... KK? No? Well, too bad!!! Meh. :D

La La Laaaaaaa!!!! (can you FEEL the JOY!?)
So we found a house...
AND after three previous attempts to purchase a house and having other offers come in before ours....
We got it.
YAY.
So the latest that we will be starting to move back into a place of our own is Jan 21st.
Yay!!!!!! I'm so excited to not have to worry about my kids bugging ANYONE BUT ME (and of course Jer when he is home, but come on.... daylight hours? they are ALLLLLLL MIIIIIIINE.)
The house is in a newer subdivision and it was built in 2007. So it's new, but I get the added bonus of not having to put a lawn in, not having to put a sprinkler system in, and having it already plumbed for a water softener - which I still have to convince Jer is not the product of the deviiiil. But that is not a nice thought and it's RUINING MY MOMENT, so I shall leave it BEHIND.
YAYAYAYAY. Kids, in own beds..... YAYAYAYAY!
Can you tell I'm excited?
You CAN!?!?
Well good thing then, cause if you couldn't I would wonder about your IQ level there honey.
Anyhow, I will post a picture when I get one :) Now I'm going to go daydream for a while :)

On The Market
So, we put out house on the market yesterday. Now I just have to figure out how to keep the house clean enough to show 24/7! Hopefully this will be our last move for a while. I told Jer when we first started building houses to sell after 2 years, that as soon as our children were in school I would be dead sent against moving any more. Next fall G will be in Kindergarten so hopefully we won't have to move again for some time after this move.
I'll be sad to leave our wonderful neighbors and ward. The people that have surrounded us during our time here have been absolutely wonderful! I hope to be able to keep in contact with many of them after we have left this house, we most certainly are not leaving the city, hopefully the change of neighborhoods isn't too much of a challenge. I'm hopeful that the next neighborhood and ward might be able to hold a candle to this one. I have never been in a more friendly, accepting, and giving neighborhood in my life. This includes the one I grew up in.
This being the case people may wonder why we are selling. Well, our finances and other life situations are leading us down this road. I think that if it were ment to be Heavenly Father would certainly let us stay. But I don't think that this is the case. I guess you never know what may happen... He knows what is best.
