Finally Better

It seams to me.... that everyone and their dog has been sick lately. Including us. I'm so happy that we are finally feeling a bit better. But while we were all quarenteened I realized that even the toy closet seem to be not feeling so well. It kept vomiting all over the floor.... DAILY! Somehow it doesn't seem to be feeling any better yet.....

I've found that even in the mornings that I don't allow any toys out (the house is on the market and I don't want to take the time hurry and clean up before we take off in 15 min) the kids are always creative and have a fun time figuring out ways to entertain themselves.

I had to hurry and sweep the kitchen before taking G to preschool. They were having great fun playing on the chairs :0)

Shoes

So the other day we got Missy My some new shoes... and for some reason or another the shoes companies see no need to make shoes that are easy for a 2-3 yr old to put on by themselves. Grrr ... now G's shoes on the ohter hand are a dream. They aren't even tacky velcro! Their laces are permenantly attanched and STRETCHY so I never have to worry about having to tie them :)

Anyways, back to Missy's shoes. We ended up having the choice between really gawdy catoonish tennies, really summery shoes (can we say snow?), and cute shoes that happen to be tie up. So yeah, we got the tie up ones figuring I would probably just do a double knot and call it good.

Well, we came home from taking G to preschool and the next thing I know is Missy is saying "I git it done!" meaning undone... lol yeah she figured out those knots in lightning time.

"Don't Steal, The Government Doesn't Like Competition"

Well, I decided today that it was time to think about keeping us off the the governments blacklist.

It was time to pay the taxman.

I usually try to get this over with far before the deadline because who knows when you wont be able to find some random piece of paper that just happens to have important tax information on it.... such as how much you paid in property taxes last year (which is the one I'm waiting for in the mail... though I was able to get the number over the phone) or when you are going to have to pay and need time to come up with the money!
.
The kids were fabulous today with Big G not complaining about going to preschool and using the bathroom before he had an accident and wanting to help me whenever possible, to Missy My not getting out toys when I knew the realtor was coming over to take pictures, and Little Li just being good natured and not getting toooo mad when I put him in his excersaucer for an extended period of time so that I could do figures. None of them even complained when I dragged them all out to the car to go pick up tax info from a couple of places around town!
.
So TADA I'm done with the figures at least... now all I have to do is make copies and send the stuff in.
.
I'm so proud of us!

Somehow he got her to smile ... all I ever get is horrid faces pulled at me!

The flash is a bit close... but hey, he's 4 right?? :D

A Surprise Phone Call

For those of you that know me well, you know that I'm not particularly close to my sisters.

We live in different states and therefore don't see each other often, and the fact that I am 4 years younger than my closest sibling didn't do a whole ton for the bonding experiences growing up. By the time I was in junior high both of them had gone off to college, then when they got married they had other people to worry about besides 14yr old me. So when I say that I'm "the youngest only child", I have at times truely felt like an only child.
There were times when I really did try to become closer to my sisters by calling them once a month etc... but in the end I didn't feel that it really made any difference and that if anything I was simply being a distraction.
For some reason even though I am a grown women with a husband and children of my own I have usually felt like my sisters consider me to be an extention of my parents, that somehow everything that they tell my parents somehow miraculously gets passed on to me. That somehow I just "Know" what is going on in their lives. Besides, there are always the long distance bills to consider.
Now, the same thing could be said of me. I don't bother much anymore with letting my sisters know what is going on with me unless there is something major going on. I figure they have busy lives and could probably do without the play by play of my life and just fast forward to the touchdowns.

Anyways.... onto the point of the post.

My sister Jo actually called ME yesterday! Now, Jo and I's communication in the passed hasn't been that great. Sometimes we just don't "connect" if you know what I mean. So when I answered the phone she was the last person I expected to hear on the other line. How wonderful to hear from her, and for no better reason than "We haven't talked in a while." It was so good to hear what is going on in her life, that her family was able to buy a house, that her girls were estatic about it, that her job is willing to work around her schedule. It was nice to talk about life a little... in broader terms than "today I did laundry" or some other mundane detail that I do almost every day.
I hope that the call didn't cost her too much, but I know that at least for me, it truely brightened my day.

Thanks Jo.

Stuck at Home

Soooo... since we are self quarentined due to RSV... Big G had finally spent some time with the Christmas gift that I thought he would spend the most time with when we gave it to him (they always surprise you don't they?), and I got around to playing with my Christmas Gift that I KNOW I will be spending more time with! LOL I should be cleaning but I'm not letting that stop my fun! Needless to say I've been playing with my photo editing program :)
