She pulls the funniest faces and is getting better with her language skills everyday.
There is one thing (ok maybe more... I admit it!) that I can't get past. See this itty bitty picture down here?
Wanna know why it's so small when usually my pictures are so huge? Her hair is cute and everything (which is the reason I took the picture... to document that hairstyle).
So why is it small? Have you not noticed? .... wow, you are oblivious.
I didn't want to make this picture huge and totally shove that image up your nose :)
She has done this since she was a baby. Seriously, she sucked her thumb in utero. The finger didn't take long after she was born to find it's "cozy little place" either.
We are currently working on the thumb sucking (it's making her slightly bucktoothed...) by telling her it's "yucky" and that it hurts her teeth and her thumb. This works ok for the most part... she stops sucking on it when it's brought to her attention most of the time.
I'm hoping and praying the finger up the nose business just sort of follows along.
Anyone else know of any kids that do this???

Kids can do such the strangest things. I've been dealing with my toddler that will take a bite of food and just let it sit in his mouth for a very lot time. He won't spit it out or swallow he just let the food sit there. It drives me crazy!
Cute hair by the way.
I know a girl (me) that sucked her fingers and twirled her hair until she was at least 8. I promise Missy will grow out of it. Peer pressure can be brutal. My parents tried everything- even the yucky hot sauces and what not. I would just suck hard until it went away. Good luck- but don't torture the poor girl too much.
Nah, I'm trying very hard not to make it a battle of wills :) Just suggest it's yucky and that it hurts her teeth and thumb... then if she actually takes it out or not is up to her. She doesn't get into trouble for it at all.

I saw the finger right away! I remember in primary watching all the sunbeams pick their noses the whole time...it is really funny how they love that little hole! As long asthey don't eat it or flick it, o-well I guess!
Ruthie had to learn the hard way to stop sucking her thumb. She got a bad cold sore that spread from her mouth to a sore on her thumb. It was really painful for her and she was on 3 different medicines for a week. It was almost 2 years ago and she still remembers it. As for the nose picking, I don't know what to do about that except to say it's yucky, too. If their nose bugs them, though, what can you do?
That is hilarious! I love it. And by the way, I am a total nose-picker. A closet nose-picker. It's very satisfying to have it all clean up in there. :)
