These were some arrangements I made a LOOOOOONG time ago. I was just thinking this morning how fun it would be to go play with flowers all day long without having to worry about the kids or the groceries. But I love being a stay at home mom so definately not for a job, just for a day. Today feels like it would have been a good day for making beautiful arrangments for others to enjoy.

My homie :)

Anyways, most Sundays Jer makes eggs for the fam. This morning is was just for me cause the kids ACTUALLY slept in .... one benefit of illness I guess. Well now, I guess I should be more upfront :oD We actually ALL slept in ... no WAY am I letting that opportunity pass without taking it! But by the time that Jer and I got to breakfast the kids had already had theirs ... so he cooked for the two of us.
And may I say, his egg cooking Skillz definately top mine! :oD

I can't WAIT for spring!

No, It's because of the CRAP that my family keeps getting. First RSV, then colds, now something else (I pray it's not the Flu that the flu shots don't work for... please please please).
I'm tired of my kids faces being covered in snot, I'm tired of them fighting cause they are grouchy because of fever or too little sleep, but mostly .... I'm tired of having to take care of everyone when I too feel like my head is in a vice or worse!
I know I know.... complain, complain. And for the rest of you mom's out there, you know how I feel! Oh, these are the days that I miss being a teenager and being allowed to sit in the tub for hours with a good book. Or be able to take a nap at 10am or 3pm or heaven forbid 7 pm and stay up till 2am without any major hurdles to be jumped.
So, until such a time as my kidlets are feeling better and the weather is good enough to send them outside when they are loud or fighting I will have to settle for a small nap on Saturday or the conundrum of whether or not to take a bath instead while the spouse in home to hold down the fort till I get out. What a good Hubby he is :)
--------- 2 1/2 hours later --------
Ahhhh sleeeeep. Yes, I decided to nap. Good decision :)

What would YOU do???
Here's what happened....
G's good friend Mr. M comes over to play.
G insists on me giving him some pop.
I say no, G throws major fit.
G gets told to go to time out
G refuses and starts screaming and yelling and grabs banister as mom drags him to time out.
G screams and yells till mom threatens nap and/or vinegar
G takes time out.
G comes out and plays well for about 20 minutes.
After a bit G decides to try to force me to give him his camera (which he lost for the day due to throwing in last night) and starts baggering me.
I count, he starts talking back and screaming
He gets told to go to time out
He throws another major fit
I tell him he is getting vinegar for talking back and screaming
He runs to his room and slams door locking it behind him.
I unlock said door with handy little unlocker thing
I give him vinegar.
He SPITS IT IN MY FACE.
!!!!!! @#$& (Don't worry it was just in my head.)
I give him three spankings and tell him that it's time for him to take a nap.
Down he goes for nap, screaming and yelling (he's not used to taking a nap).
By the way, he's loosing all of his toys for the rest of the day as well... plus because his friend is still here he doesnt get the opportunity to finish playing with him either.
Grrr... at least Missy My and Mr M seam to play well together!
What would you have done???

Finally Better

I've found that even in the mornings that I don't allow any toys out (the house is on the market and I don't want to take the time hurry and clean up before we take off in 15 min) the kids are always creative and have a fun time figuring out ways to entertain themselves.
I had to hurry and sweep the kitchen before taking G to preschool. They were having great fun playing on the chairs :0)

A Surprise Phone Call
We live in different states and therefore don't see each other often, and the fact that I am 4 years younger than my closest sibling didn't do a whole ton for the bonding experiences growing up. By the time I was in junior high both of them had gone off to college, then when they got married they had other people to worry about besides 14yr old me. So when I say that I'm "the youngest only child", I have at times truely felt like an only child.
There were times when I really did try to become closer to my sisters by calling them once a month etc... but in the end I didn't feel that it really made any difference and that if anything I was simply being a distraction.
For some reason even though I am a grown women with a husband and children of my own I have usually felt like my sisters consider me to be an extention of my parents, that somehow everything that they tell my parents somehow miraculously gets passed on to me. That somehow I just "Know" what is going on in their lives. Besides, there are always the long distance bills to consider.
Now, the same thing could be said of me. I don't bother much anymore with letting my sisters know what is going on with me unless there is something major going on. I figure they have busy lives and could probably do without the play by play of my life and just fast forward to the touchdowns.
Anyways.... onto the point of the post.
My sister Jo actually called ME yesterday! Now, Jo and I's communication in the passed hasn't been that great. Sometimes we just don't "connect" if you know what I mean. So when I answered the phone she was the last person I expected to hear on the other line. How wonderful to hear from her, and for no better reason than "We haven't talked in a while." It was so good to hear what is going on in her life, that her family was able to buy a house, that her girls were estatic about it, that her job is willing to work around her schedule. It was nice to talk about life a little... in broader terms than "today I did laundry" or some other mundane detail that I do almost every day.
I hope that the call didn't cost her too much, but I know that at least for me, it truely brightened my day.
Thanks Jo.

Bedtime Dad's Way
If you'll notice while the kids get a chance to each pick a book, dad decides to be creative. Jer is reading the kids 2 books at the same time.
Yup... Mothers intuition strikes again....
Little Li was supposed to have his 6 month checkup today but because he was caughing and wheezing a little I had them change the appointment to a regular sick check. Needless to say, he has RSV, which means that Big G most likely has the same thing and Missy My seams to be coming down with it as well.
I'm glad we didn't go to church last Sunday and share all the fun....
Anywho... Li now has to have breathing treatments every 4 hours for the next 2 days... fun fun.... you try keeping THIS thing on or even near a 6 month olds face!!!

Being an admitted News Junkie... My most visited website is Foxnews.com, but since it's my homepage maybe that one doesn't count! So you can blame this one on the News Junkie issue as well... Localnews8.com (It's the local news site since I refuse to pay for the local paper)

Sick Kids and Preschool
Sunday L got the boogerfest going needless to say we didn't go the church.
This morning called G's Preschool to let his teacher know that he wouldn't be there. Come to find out that on Friday there were 3 kids at preschool with the same cough. Why is it that some people seam to think that if their kid is not puking all over the place uncontrolably that it is okay to send them to ANY place with other children?
Grrr... I just hope this stuff isn't the dreaded RSV crap... Anyone know how to tell the difference in young children??

P.S. After putting Missy and Li down for naps I came downstair to find the G had put himself down too... in front of Star Wars :)

P.P.S. Big G was so cute earlier. As he was playing with the Friggits on the Fridge he says to me "Mom, whenever I do it like this it has ISSUES" LOL Leave it to him to not be a NORMAL child and say "problems" but instead to take my lingo from my customer service days and use the more politically correct "issues" :)
