Maybe I jumped the gun....
Update on Polygamist issue.
I'm starting to think I was overly critical of the state for taking ALL of the children. I still worry about due process but if all the kids are at risk then I don't blame the state for taking all of them. Especially if the mothers weren't cooperating and deliberately trying to hose over the investigation.
New News story is in circulation here.

Yay!!! and Poor sick kiddo.
Yah, I think that is going to have to wait a couple of days.
Little Li slept in this morning... hooray! or at least that is what I thought. Turns out the kid isn't feeling well. He didn't want much breakfast and then proceeded to puke all over the floor when I set him down to go get Missy My dressed so we could take G to preschool. Poor little guy.

On a Beautiful Day...
So yesterday and today have been bright and shiny (I'll be it windy...but hey, this IS Idaho)! Yay! Hopefully spring is actually here.
Unfortunately all of my kids got a smidgen sunburned yesterday so after spending a small time this morning out in the sun, instead of lather them up in sun lotion (I don't have any spray on ...yet) we decided to play inside for a bit.
These are my kids favorite things to do inside when they can't be playing outside.
Play Lego StarWars
Take Uber-long baths.... wonder who she gets that from!? lol

And generally be happy... though he is starting to practice being on hands and knees and bouncing back and forth.

"Dream the Impossible Dream!"
I've decided that every mother of young children deserves to get a good long nap every day. Unfortunately life doesn't work out that way.
Usually my day starts at 6am-6:30 and I get to bed around 11:30 or midnight. I get up at least twice during those sleeping hours to take care if Little Li. And if by chance I try to get a nap one of the kids always decides they need me desparately for something.
I don't know about the rest of you, but a good long nap would be heaven.

Like to Pop Bubble Wrap?
Click here! I have a feeling my kids would take over my computer if I show it to them.
My favorite day of the week :)
"I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts...dedaleedee. All of them are standing in a roooooooow!"
Ok, can I just say I love Fridays. Even more than Saturdays.
It is the one day of the week that I don't dread ending. Weekdays are the normal grind I don't really dread the next day, it's just not usually something I look forward too. Saturdays are great but I can't seam to get enough done on them. Then a kinda dread Sundays cause of fighting the kids all the way through church and the missed naps due to it. And Sunday I dread Monday coming and Jeremy going back to work.
So that is it. Friday is my favorite day of the week!
YAY, TGIF!

Scared for our rights.
OK, for those of you not interested in current events please bare with me.
As many of you know the government seized about 400 children from a polygamist group in TX because of suspicion of child abuse. While I don't advocate polygamy or child abuse (and I'm pretty sure that both occurred in this case to some extent) I am concerned that our government is throwing caution to he wind as far as religious groups go.
This scares the crap out of me that children can be ripped out of a parents arms without so much as one REAL witness to any crime that endangers that child. Also without the court hearing any objections. How would you feel if your children were ripped away from you and you were not allowed to see them simply because some nutcase pretended to be a 13 yr old girl that was abused in your home? Or heaven forbid she pretended abuse in your uncles home? Does that make any sense!?
Our government is too powerful and getting too out of control.
Here is more info if you are interested. The site that it goes to is a conservative site and I don't agree with all he says, but at least he puts forward a good arguement and does a decent job backing it up.

Subways' Employee From Hades

So we decided to go to Subway due to the fact that Big G wanted a sandwich. Off we go... Once we all got there and got everyone seated (or at least the kidlets situated) we go and order our meals. Somehow the "Tuna" sandwich I ordered for the kids turned into a "Club" ... how that was misheard who knows! Oh well, they will eat that too so no biggy. The staff didn't seam like the brightest crayons in the box, if you know what I mean, and I didn't want to challenge them too much intellectually so I didn't say anything and my kids ended up liking the sandwich just fine anyways :)
The Cashier (aka Employee from Hades) was a little prickly with my MIL because my MIL wanted to make sure the order was all there and correct and that she had paid for everything. Again, something that can be brushed off right?
So we are having a good conversation and the kids are eating away. Big G was really good and ate all of his meal pretty quick and Missy My pulled her sandwich apart as usual (I wonder if she is going to be one of those adults that have issues with any food touching the other on the plate. She pulls every sandwich she eats apart and eats all of it individually).
Big G mentions he has to use the potty. OK can do.
Missy My says she has to go too. alrighty come along!
Get the the women's bathroom and it's out of order. Sign says "Use Men's Bathroom". Alright. Again no biggy, things like that happen.
Into the men's room all three of us go. Gavin sits down and after doing his business pulls my attention to the fact that there is no toilet paper. Crap.
"You guys STAY here for just a sec, mom is going to go get some TP."
Out I go and politely get an employees attention and tell her "there is no TP in the Men's bathroom. I need some for my son."
Then MIL and Az get my attention and tell me they think Little Li is dirty too. OK. All in stride. Nothing I can't handle.
Crap no Wipes in the bag, Az can I borrow some? Sure.
I go check on Big G and Missy My and tell them "mom is still trying to get some TP"
Missy My "I have to peeeeeeeeee!"
"OK honey hold on!!!"
Again I go out to get TP. Look and see that nobody is working on getting me any. I know that if I don't get some quick there is going to be a mess....
I state loudly "Would somebody PLEASE get me some TP for my son!?"
Employees scramble to get me some. Meanwhile.....
Elderly employee with red spiky hair and icy blue eyes (aka Employee from Hades) decides to step in. Who, by the way, is sitting next to where I'm standing taking a break. Why she didn't get up and get me some TP? who knows.
"You don't have to YELL at them. They ARE busy."
"I wasn't yelling. I was just trying to get some TP."
Yada yada yada... YELLING at THEM ... blah blah
"I wasn't yelling."
another employee hands me napkins .... fine I guess this will have to do! .... wait a minute, here is another employee behind her with actual TP. YAY!!!
I go and hand Big G TP and step back out because by this time I'm fuming because A) who did she think she was? B) why didn't she get me the TP? and C) I WASN'T yelling and I wanted her to understand I was just urgent!
Me to EFH "you try having a kid that is potty training and one that has frequent accidents and see ....
"IT DOESN'T MATTER! You need to learn to control yourself!!!"
!!!!!
"And what are you going to do to me!!!????" (I could have handled this better I must admit.)
and I walk off to go back to the bathroom to my two young children carrying Little Li on my hip. Behind me I hear her call me an ass. HEY!!! HOW did she know my initials????!!!! ROFL
This is ridiculous at this point so I go and take care of my children. Thank Goodness Missy didn't have an accident... though I have to admit I probably would have found a little satisfaction in telling EFH to go clean up the urine on the bathroom floor. I change Little Li on the floor (no changing table as usual) and get all of our hands washed and head back out.
I completely ignore EFH and go look for a comment card... none. Great. So as my MIL and Az are helping me to manage my children as we are ready to leave I grab a napkin and write on it.
"Need to keep bathroom stocked with TP. Tell elderly employee with red hair to hold her tongue when someone asked URGENTLY for toilet paper after already asking for it once before for her 2 potty training children.
-April Lastname Insertemail@address.here"
And I race out of there children in tow.

A Distructive Girls Best Friend!

Anywho, I was depressed this morning and started to get a little snarky about it. So what did I do you ask? I decided to procrastinate dressing my children (Missy My is STILL in her PJ's) and since my filing box was out I decided to shred all the useless crap I've been holding onto since Jan of last year.
So I made best friends with my shredder :) And you know what? I actually feel a bit better about things now!
Oh and BTW the picture is of Shredder from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and no I don't like April O'Niel!

Oh, Maaaaaan!
It's currently 8:30 am..... Big G woke up at 7,
and Missy My... well I think she WOULD have slept till 10! Unfortunately I had to wake her up to take G to preschool... heavens, I opened her blinds and turned off her music and opened her bedroom door at 8 and still not a stir! She must have been REALLY wiped out!

Hangin Out
So yesterday Nat had her baby shower for her little girl, and may I say that little girl is going to be stylin! Her hubby "Pete" and Jer and the six kids hung out at our house while us girls were relaxing and hanging out.

Her boys are so cute. And they seamed to have fun playing with my munkins and vice versa.
Practicing To Be An Actor? Or Maybe A Stuntman?
This is a very common thing at our house. Big G is mimicing Spiderman 3 where Harry bombards Peter in the ally. I can't help but be amused.

Anonymus Comment Day!
Ok, so I know we all feel under appreciated sometimes. So here is your chance to toot your own horn!
What is something (or a lot of somethings if you wish!) that you do that you don't think anyone notices that you think you do really well! And people should notices it darn it!!! If only for the fact that you do it REALLY well! :D

Wishful thinking?
Ok, so do you think I should ask Jer to turn on the sprinklers or do you think that is ASKING for more snow???

I can TELL TIME!!!
So a couple of years ago I bought a cute watch that had little digital stick people on the face that danced or made the numbers out of their wee little bodies to tell you what second it is in the minute. Then after wearing it for many a day the little people disappeared. So sad, i just figured the watch had a bug... but I really didn't think the seconds were such an important thing to cause me to send the watch back the manufacturer... so on life went.
About 2 weeks ago the battery on said watch died. yaaaaay (can you feel the sarcasm?).
Let me insert here, I cannot function without a waterproof watch (no kidding they last about a week max). And the last time I took a waterproof watch to a cheapo place to get the battery replaced they busted the seal ...therefore making it no longer waterproof...therefore sentencing said watch to a watery death and eternal fogginess. Because of these two factors I took afore mentioned "stick people" watch to a jeweler to have the battery replaced.
Turns out they were out of the kind of battery it needed. :P BUT, they did order them in... and since my much needed watch was already at said jeweler, I figured... what the heck? So I left it for them to take care of.
Today I went and picked up said watch. And guess what? The thing took 2 batteries. Kinda strange... Guess what the other battery was for? The STICK PEOPLE. Yay, my little friends are HOME!
I know.... isn't it sad that I'm so excited about that?! :D
I know it's a little skuffed up... but I'm getting a little attached to the darned thing!

Late naps....

Hmmm. Dilemma.
So Missy My has started to get her nap later and later in the day. Now she starts getting REALLY grumpy around about 5-5:30 pm... her bedtime is around 7:30 to 8pm. Yeah, bad time for naps.
Sunday as we were headed home from my parents house about 20 min away from here she conked out. Believe you me, we tried to keep her awake. No can do. In fact once we actually got home Jer picked her up to bring her inside ... not over the shoulder in a comfy way, no, just draped over his lower portion of his arm.... dangling. And she stayed asleep. he even brought my attention to it and wiggled his arm around a little to display how asleep she was. Causing her to swing a little but to not even stir.
And here I was thinking we would feed the kids, play a little and put them to bed. HA! So into bed she went as I started to make a quick dinner for the rest of us. I thought. Hey! We can wake her up in about 20 min and she will be good to go to bed at her normal time and get dinner right?! Nope. Once dinner was on the table, both Jer and I attempted to wake her up. Nothing doing again. So we let her sleep... thinking maybe she would sleep through the night cause she was so tired.
About 9-9:30 rolls around and what do we hear? Yup. Missy My is awake. sigh. So I get her up, feed her, bath her (she was really dirty from playing outside at gma and gpa's house), and change her sheets (yup, she wet them). Then I proceed to have Jer take her downstairs to hang out with daddy for an hour or two till she is tired enough to go back to sleep. Then I crashed. I even had her tuck me in for a change!
Apparently she was up till 11pm, being really good and very agreeable, watching Jer play on the computer. Then she woke up at the normal time this morning.
She tried to do the same thing today, unfortunately for her, mom wasn't so willing to give up waking her up today. Man, was she grumpy when she got up at 6pm after only a half hour of sleep (she really needed it too.... shrill screams for no good reason every 5 min or so are REALLY grating!)
So my question to you is.... What would you do? She won't sleep any earlier... I've tried it, all she does is play in her room for a while (about a half hour or so) then use the potty and come ask for a potty treat from me (she is still potty training).

Great Website
ok, so I've been looking around for a while trying to figure out how to simple add a picture as my background here. Needless to say I had a hard time finding a site that explained how to do this on Blogger. Well, I found one. And dare I say it's a pretty good one! So if you want to truely customize your blog here is a site to help you!
Be warned I will be playing with my page for a bit so if it is different every time you look at it for a while, don't be surprised! :)

Early mornings and not so pleasant suprises!
Ok, so this morning Li woke up before the other kids. I had a hard time waking up and figured it was just the fact that I was up till a little past midnight last night... right?
Well, up I get, and I go in the kitchen to get Li something to eat.
Well, I open to blinds, because, hey! who doesn't like natural light right? Wait a minute.... NO! Not again!
So THAT's why I had a hard time waking up! Grrrr... If this stuff kills my flowers I'm going to be TICKED! :P

Clobbered
What is it about a parent sitting or laying on the floor that is a instant kid magnet? And same thing with cameras... as soon as a parent picks one up it's instantly "Mom/Dad can I see?" or "Take a picture of me!" lol I mean... REALLY! ... I often wonder what my kids would think if I pulled out my old 35mm camera. I mean, goodness! you can't even see the picture you just took. And heaven forbid that you actually have to wait a WHOLE hour (or *gulp* a WHOLE day) to see the pictures!
I made the "mistake" today of doing both, I picked up the camera and sat on the floor. Instantly I was a jungle gym! LOL
Networking
So, this may sound weird, but I was really kinda worried that my class wouldn't have a class reunion. nerdy I know, but i want to knwo what happened to everyone! This year is supposed to be our 10 year reunion. The girl that was our class historian went AWOL a while ago. I swear nobody I know has heard about her since WWI ... er Graduation.
Anywho, one of my friends emailed me to tell me that... yes we were going to have a reunion.
And that it wouldn't be the class historian who was doing it. Guess I REALLY should start trying to get in shape... this is as good of an excuse as any. Yay, she found out by going on Facebook. So, I signed up. Man, everyone and their dog is on that thing. And unlike Myspace I dont have to worry about figuring out how to program a stupid custom background :) Hooray, one less thing to use as a tool to procrastinate cleaning.

YAY! They can play outside again!!!
Hooray! after a long and very snowy winter, one that I must admit, they saw very little sun in, it is warm enough to play OUTSIDE!!
I never realized as a kid that not only I looked forward to being outside, my parents probably looked forward to it too. :) I mean... in the winter, who REALLY wants to bundle up the kids in all their gear just to have them come back inside within 15min tracking all sorts of wintery goodness with them? Then there is the subsequent clean up.
But, NOW all I have to say is "You want to go in the backyard and play?" then "Ok, get on your shoes and your jacket and go outside then" :D no more running screaming through the house for extended periods of time! it's "Go outside and scream to your hearts content!" No more bouncing off the walls it's "Go outside and play tag!" Isn't mom full of fun suggestions now?
I love spring! and my crocuses are coming up, and my daffodils too! And HEY! I think I see a tulip starting over there!!!! That's great kids! You can pick the blooms off of them. It's enough for me to know that they are there! Nothing can go wrong in the spring. Mom is a MUCH happier person.

ROFL for those of you who play W.O.W.
Ok, so randomness!! One of my favorite blogs posted this on there site. Funniest thing is that it was Mormon Mommy Wars... can we say Ironic???
I've now got SKILLZ!
Ok, call me a dweeb but I just was inlightened as to how to make a link out of one of the words in a post. Thank you Hollywood!!! Thought I would share the info :)
ok, so I'm gunna try it! Here is the link to Jeremys blog.
Yay I feel "Special" aka Church Lady from the old SNL skits.... you know, when they were still good!
Now i just have to aquire the SKILLZ for being able to customize my blogs background texture...
"After you write your text, go back with your mouse and highlight the word(s) that you'd like turned into a link. Then click on the button above the post box (usually next to all the text formatting options like bold and font) that looks like three links of a chain all hooked together. A box will pop up asking you where you'd like your link to be. Copy the web address of your link here and click okay."

Hearing Test

Well, G passed his hearing test today with flying colors. So glad his ears work alright! The audiologist even mentioned that since his ears are so good it may be that he has APD (Audio Processing Disorder). Ummmm yeah! So nice to meet someone who knows what the HECK I'm talking about! The Pediatrician definately didn't know what I ment by APD. Oh well, they have to know so much I'm sure it's hard to remember everything.
Anyways, unfortunateley the audiologist also said that there is no way to test G for it right now because he is so young. He would have to be at least 5 and a half (which isn't too far off). So anyways, I think we may be getting closer to figuring out what is up.
