Turbo and the Computer
Jer took the day off of work today and since he is home he set up his old computer for the kids.
This is the first time Turbo has ever had an opportunity to use a computer.

Brownie Points for Hubby
So yesterday Missy asked me to draw a picture of our family on the tile that I use as a whiteboard on our fridge.
I, of course, drew stick figures.
This morning after both Jer and Goober had left for the day I found this...
Apparently Jer found the need to expound on my stick figures. :)
(Rhino the Hamster voice and all... hehe)

Any G
Tonight as Missy is running back and forth across the room as fast as she can...
Jer: "Missy, did you not get enough energy out today?"
Missy: "I don't have any G... just at school"

"It's Too Much Mom!"
So yesterday after I finished painting the kitchen I was talking to my mom on the phone... wandering around the house picking up stuff and placing things back where they needed to be in the kitchen.
The older kids had gone to see if friends could play, and apparently found one at home. Turbo was in the backyard in his snow gear cause that was where he wanted to be.
As I wondered around blabbing to my mother, I considered going downstairs and picking up things there... I'm glad I didn't.
Blah, Blah, Blah *squeak* ??
I look up at the back window and see a big streak of mud.... and behind that mud? A face... and more mud.
"Oh, crap, mom I have to go!"
Turbo had apparently found some nice gooey mud in the backyard. And from what it looked like he had bathed in it! To give you an idea, I considered hosing him down... IN JANUARY! And then discarded that idea for one that involved stripping him down on the back deck.
Apparently he didn't care that his clothes were wet and muddy, just that his hands (which were holding his mud soaked gloves) had gotten soiled. Even then I had to bribe him with a bath to get him to let me take off his clothes!
The whole time he was looking at his hands exclaiming "It's too MUCH mom! It's too MUCH!"

Having an Up day...
Ain't husbands great? (Yes, I know ain't, ain't a word... but I ain't going to stop... so SUCK IT TREBEK!)
My hubby and I had a good talk Saturday night... after, I admit, me having a bit of a tantrum...
This week we are not getting on the computer until we feel like we have accomplished something.
Monday we cleaned out the pantry and vacuumed the whole house and I did laundry during the day around errands.
Tuesday Jer cleaned the bathrooms and I started painting the last bar stool and shelf that have been sitting in the garage waiting to be painted for over a year... Jer also put up the heating vents in the basement and the water access covers that have also been waiting for a year to get done... easy but for some reason just never gotten to. I also swept and mopped earlier in the day.
Each evening the kids have taken turns picking out a DVD... they only get one a day now... and we have sat down as a family to enjoy it.
Today I cleaned out and organized the shelves in the kitchen. I read to the kids, and I got the book order filled out for Goobers school. I have a hair appointment and I plan on going to the store and getting paint....
I have to say, it's really nice to feel like things are getting done, when before I was too overwhelmed to do them or to even start... now I feel like there is some hope that one day MAYBE I might get caught up. Maybe my house will look like mine (I'm going to see what can be done about painting the kitchen tonight), and maybe my house might get decluttered. But for now, just turning off the computer and sitting down to watch a movie as a family has helped me to realize (yet again) that most of those things don't matter as long as our family knows we love each other.
Needless to say, today is a good day. Hope it continues....
P.S. Jer is planning a trip to get me away from home for while and give me a chance to miss my kids... Sometimes missing them is a godsend and helps you realize what you have.
